Premarin (pregnant mares urine) is the menopause drug that is produced by Wyeth Amherst, along with Prempro, their low dose version of Premarin. The pregnant mares are strapped to always be standing upright in tiny stalls- where their urine is collected into cups and sold to produce premarin, millions of the foals, unwanted, are slaughtered. Also there are proven health risks to the women who take these drugs.

A synthetic replacement drug is now on the market called Cenestin.
