On Sunday May 29, 2005- 130 riders and their horses attended
Belmont Rack Track, New York to walk in the World of Horses Parade,
sponsored by Bella Horse Rescue.

A Hugh thanks to Kym Tinsley who organized the parade and Betsy
Galotta and the members of the World of Horses Committee, everyone worked hard putting the Day's events together. The Committee allowed Bella Horse Rescue to send the message, that "horses were walking for horses, against horse slaughter".

Everyone was thrilled to be on the same track were so many famous
horses have raced, and won.

Individual Horse owners as well as many groups arrived looking
great, dressed to their likeness of riding. The owners had put much
time and effort into making their horses look really beautiful. Many
decorated their manes and tails with red, white and blue ribbons and
streamers, and some horses had stars and USA in sparkles on them.

Both Nassau County and New York City police mounted officers
also attended to walk in our segment of the parade,
respectfully attending to "give their horses a voice against horse
slaughter". Thank you Ellen Nash, founder www.manesandtailsorganization.org for arranging for them to attend.

The groups that participated are: Northeast Peruvian Horse club from Morris Equestrian Center in Morris, CT; L..I. Paint Horse Association; Crystal Brook Stables from Centereach, L..I.; Islip Horsemen's Association (Spirit of Long Island Drill Team, and Team Turn N Burn Gymkhana); Knoll Farm of Brentwood; plus Dressage rider, Cheryl Schoonmaker from Jamaica, NY; Western Reiner Jessica Ulrich from Morris, CT; Reining Duo brother and sister team - Particia Norton Babato and Gregory Norton; and many other horse lovers with their special horses.

Thank you everyone for your enthusiasm, support against horse
slaughter, and love for your horses which made the parade so great !
