After a 7 week layover (originally
from Pa.) Lady Hawke stayed in Niagara Falls and arrived
on April 28th - to Bostwick Bay Farms in Southhold, NY for
rehabilitation. It was a true nightmare for this once well
taken care of beautiful 16 year old mare.
She could not be any sweeter, even after all she has suffered
through, and she has a long road ahead to full recovery,
as you can see. The woman who had her is up on many counts
of animal cruelty, so justice will be done - thanks to the
PA SPCA who removed all the horses in this woman's facility.
This person was a supposed "rescue" and getting
donations. Just because someone takes a horse in need, does
not guarantee the future is a good one for that horse. Please
check carefully when sending a horse in
need to a new home - rescue or otherwise. Lady Hawke is
unfortunately the example of what can happen when the future
of your horse is not secured. This damage was done to her
in only 13 months time!! Please, get references and check
them, and go to see the facility to see for yourself. There
are many amazing rescues and homes out there, make sure
it's a good one.

Lady Hawke at the
"rescue" in PA

I received a call from Stephany
of Celtic Rein Equine Rescue & Sanctuary in Maryland
who had all of the details. Lady Hawke was an urgent case
- since the rescue's in PA and MD were all full, and wanted
another rescue to get her out of there as soon as possible.

Lady Hawke before
this all began - Please help us get this sweet and
deserving mare back to this condition! She deserves
it

If you could find it in your
heart to assist us with Lady Hawke's bills for shipping,
food, and vet visits, with many more to come, it would be
so helpful and appreciated - she will need to be wormed,
vaccinated and have her teeth done, which cannot be done
yet, due to her malnutrition. This poor mare has an intense
recovery ahead, and any denomination will help us help Lady
Hawke tremendously, and will go directly toward her care.
Bella Horse Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable
organization and all donations are tax deductible.
